One of the secrets that I love to share with my clients is that of the “Microfibre Magic”
Many years ago the use of Microfibres was unheard of but that all changed for the better. Today many if not all car cleaners and detailers have been converted because it makes my life easier and delivers a first class finish every single time.
So what is Microfibre and Why Does it Work so Well ?
Microfibre has been around since the 1970’s but has only recently made a significant impact on the car detailing market. It’s a man made fabric designed to be up to 9 times more absorbent than cotton, and to be soft enough to guarantee that it won’t scratch paint.
microfibre has 9 times more absorption than cotton
Benefits
The benefits are numerous
- Microfibre is super absorbent, able to hold up to 9 times its own weight in water.
- Microfiber cleaning tools absorb fat and grease and their electrostatic properties and give them a high dust-attracting power.
- One of the best features of microfibre is it leaves no lint, this is particular beneficial when wiping down glass and mirrors. Microfibre will leave a streak free finish each and everytime
- They come in a range of colors – great for categorizing tasks and also makes them pretty
To be honest .. If a cloth is ever needed, there isn’t a job that cannot be performed with a Microfibre cloth. Including: drying, windows, polishing and even wheels.
Caution
Because microfibre has such strong absorptive properties, when a cloth picks up dust and dirt it will stay trapped in the cloth. If you continue to clean or polish a surface with a dirty cloth, the trapped dirt can scratch your cleaning surface. If you are polishing a cars exterior paint surface, ensure you remove all the dirt and use a clean cloth.
